DICUMYL PEROXIDE is used for the (co)polymerization of styrene. It may also be used as co-agent in the
production of flame retardant, expandable polystyrene.
Coagent in flame retardant polystyrene:
Polystyrene is made flame retardant by the use of halogen-containing additives such as
hexabromocyclododecane. DICUMYL PEROXIDE may be used as a synergistic
coagent in combination with hexabromocyclododecane to produce flame retardant expandable polystyrene.
